We have tried our best to compile a list below of the frequently asked questions that we come across when registrations for the competition open and/or in the lead up to the Regional Final.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to participate in this awesome event?
Only $5 per person! TeenAg Individual Members can compete for free.

Does the team have to have 2 competitors or can I compete on my own?
You need 2 competitors per team, there are no exceptions.

If registration is individual, how will you match me with my team mate?
This is where the snazzy team name comes into play. When registering you will be asked to enter a "Team Name".  Make sure you and your team mate know what your team name is as this is how we will match the team mates together.

How do I know which Regional Final I am eligable for?

If you are still struggling to pin point which Regional you are eligable for click here to view the list of Territory Managers. Your TeenAg clubs Territory Manager will be listed next to the Region you qualify for.

Can I compete in a Regional Final that isn't in our area?
If there is need to compete out of region, an application must be put forward to the Competition’s Coordinator for deliberation, and may be accepted in serious cases. However, you will not be awarded a placing.

We are entering teams through our school. Is there a maximum number of teams we can enter?
Each school is entitled to enter up to eight teams into the Regional Competition.  However, at the Competition Coordinator’s sole discretion, schools may be invited to enter additional teams into the Regional Competition in the event there is capacity to do so two weeks out from competition.  

How many modules are there?
There are 8 modules, which test a wide range of agriculture knowledge from theory to hands on skills which parallel activities on-farm and are age and skill appropriate. These modules last for 6 minutes each.

Will we get any hints as to what is involved prior to the day?
Absolutely, this will be emailed out the Monday prior to the competition. So make sure you are on the lookout for this email, make sure to check spam accounts if you have not received it.

When will we hear what time we have to be there?
This will also be emailed out with the hints the Monday prior to the competition. This email will also include the days’ timetable. So make sure you are on the lookout for this email, make sure to check spam accounts if you have not received it.

Can we please be in a later preliminary round as we have to drive a wee way to get the regional final?
What we do here is, we google maps all schools distance and the time it will take to get to the regional’s location. We put the closest schools to the venue in the first rounds and the further away schools in the later rounds.

Can we change our team name once we have registered?
Unfortunately not. So please make sure you have you are happy with your team name before you submit it.

Can we change a competitor in our team after registering?
Absolutely, just complete the registration process for the new competitor and make sure you enter your team name to match the other team members. Then email the Competitions Coordinator to let him know the name of the new person and the team member they will be replacing. Click here to contact our Competition's Coordinator.

When do we find out the results of our placing?
These will be emailed out the following week of the competition.

We placed in our regional final (1st or 2nd), when do we expect to receive information about Grand Final?
You will get an email the following week of the competition to congratulate you on your efforts and that we will be in touch regarding Grand Final information once all the Regionals have finished.  

We got 3rd place at our TeenAg regional, what’s next?
Congratulations on your efforts. You should be proud of how well you did! But unfortunately only the top two teams from each regional go through to Grand Final.
